Artist Spotlight: Animals of the Arctic

A lack of a constantly thriving music scene leaves one yearning for real grit, real live shows. My prayers have been answered by Animals of the Arctic, Miami-born-and-bred and ridiculously noisy and on fire. They're what a garage band would sound like if said band emerged from the cavernous, slime-ridden, electric depths of Miami nightclubs and house parties - humorous, danceable, an audial good time/best night. That said, they'd be equally at home in any space where sweaty people wanted to dance. "Ambulance Sirens" is the charged yelps of a lovesick stalker on the prowl; in "Black Moss," he's less desperate, darker and maybe more intense.
