Artist Watch: Best Coast

Best Coast is the latest project of Bethany Consantino - L.A. child who came to New York for one year to study writing at the New School, realized it wasn't for her, and bounced back to Cali to make the music she'd been dreaming about. Three days after returning to her native city she had already recorded the first single, "The Sun Was High (And So Was I)", from her upcoming album. Her sound is pure lo-fi cali beach music, and her tracks so far are outstandingly consistent, each with its own catchy melody and poignantly simple lyrics.
