Super groups often don't live up to their hype, but Fun. is a complete exception. Formed by Nate Ruess from The Format, Andrew Dost of Anathallo, and Jack Antonoff of Steel Train the band is a beautifully refreshing sound. Production from Red Kross' Steven McDonald and arrangements by Roger Joseph Manning Jr. makes the record sound like an interesting blend of Queen, Sufjan Stevens, and 90s indie rock. Their debut album entitled Aim and Ignite is catchy and approachable in all the right places. If you're an avid pop-punk fan you'll still love this album, it's hard not to.
