Artist Watch: Flevans
by Samuel on July 18, 2009
Hailing from the United Kingdom, producer/multi-instrumentalist Flevans has been creating his own unique brand of cut-and-chop soul-tronica. With funk samples thrown around on top of live bass lines and guitar riffing, his style is something akin to Fatboy Slim meets Thes One, but just as infectiously catchy and danceable as a top-40 hip-hop track. Beautiful and complex, songs like "Newton's Blues," off the album "Unfabulous," are both driving and completely chilled-out. On his most recent album "27 Devils," the songs are more refined but remain modern and upbeat, especially on songs like "Flicker," and "Hold No Water." Check out his MySpace for more info, and go cop "27 Devils" in stores now!
